HMS Bounty

We had the privilege of touring the Bounty when she was in port in St. Augustine in the Spring of 2012.

The Bounty sank in the Atlantic during Hurricane Sandy on October 12, 2012. One crew member died but her body was recovered.  The captain was never found.

Camping Trip Spring Break 2013

Our very first camping trip.  We LOVED IT!  In spite of the fact that spring break turned out to be one of the coldest weeks of the "winter" in Florida. We loved it so much, in fact, we plan to become full time campers when we retire.  (We gonna need a bigger camper)

Kingsley Lake is beautiful. One of my favorite places ever!

 Maggie loves camping too.

Ferin stayed with us a couple of days.  She had fun on her bike.

Ahhh...a camp fire on a cold night.

                                                A beautiful Kingsley Lake sunset.

Kayaking

Our new favorite passion is Kayaking.  So far, Kingsley Lake has been our spot to learn but we hope soon to be able to paddle down some of the pretty rivers in Florida.  The  Ichetucknee River is calling our names!

Our visit to the Smokey Mountain National Park 2008

My favorite vacation to date was our stay in the Smokey Mountains.  We stayed in Pigeon Forge and went out exploring daily.

One of our day trips was to Cade's Cove.  This is my absolute favorite part of the Smokeys.  Next time, we will remember a picnic lunch because the drive is 3-4 hours with no restaurants or concessions on the drive.

Mingo Falls is in Cherokee, N. C.  You walk up about a million (seems like it) steps to get to the falls.  It's difficult to get a good photo of the falls because of people climbing up to the top of the falls.  I managed to zoom in and get them cropped out of my photos.

Meigs Falls is a roadside fall between the Sugarland Visitor's Center and Cade's Cove along Little River Road.

Oops, I was wrong about the bear sighting.  This was the second.

Juney Wank Falls is just outside Bryson City.  It was a bit of a walk up a hill but I didn't think the walk was as hard as the steps to Mingo Falls.

A Salamander...the Smokies are known as the Salamander Capital of the World.  I have no idea what kind this litte guy is.  He's a snake with legs as far as I'm concerned.
